The ride portion of the Haunted Mansion actually is outside the Disneyland park. You unknowingly leave the boundaries of the park after taking the elevator down (the stretching room) and walking to the Doom Buggies.
Just so you know, this image refers to the Magic Kingdom park in Walt Disney World, and the ride is located entirely within the park’s boundaries. In Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion, the stretching room takes guests underground, and they pass under the Disneyland Railroad tracks before reaching the show building, which is entirely outside the berm.
